My first reaction when I had heard that Terrell Owens was suspended
by the Philadelphia Eagles was a sincere feeling of grief for the
Eagles football fans. Let me explain... You have in my eyes a game
changing wide receiver which is exactly what Eagles fans have been
lacking for some time which in result has driven up expectations and
for good reason.
Last season the Eagles finally broke threw and went past the NFC Championship
to the Super Bowl where they lost to the New England Patriots. At
the start of the 2005 NFL season Eagles fans thought they should win
the Super Bowl this year. As a fan that is the ultimate thought....
Until you find out one of your best player is a cancer in the locker
room.
My favorite NFL team has been the Bengals since 1992. I remember Carl
Pickens, who was not a elite wide receiver but was a 1,000 yard receiver
and most importantly our best wide receiver. He was also a cancer.
This make me truly appreciate that we have Chad Jonson now and he
knows where to draw the line.
With so many talented wide receivers in the league today TO just can
not get away with calling out his teammates and getting into locker
room brawls. It just makes me really appreciate Chad Johnson, Marvin
Harrison, Tori Holt and all the other class act wide receivers around
the league.
In conclusion I do not see Terrell Owens ever playing for the Eagles
again.... I see him going to another team and being successfull. Allot
of this last incident with saying they would be undefeated with Brett
Favre as QB was taken out of context but he put that target on his
chest. Do I want him on my Bengals? No. We have a very sold WR group
and great team character. Allot of teams searching for an identity
out there and I see him landing with one of them. Best of luck to
Terrell Owens, he is a true talent I hope I get to watch for many
more years to come.
