tried to play hard but lost 11- 0 to the Blue Jays of Toronto
on Thursday in Detroit at Comerica Park.

have included some great players like Ivan Rodriguez, Rondell

and Urbina.

a lot off season to merge among the top teams of the Central.
But still they do not come up as well with Yankees, Red Sox and
Angels.
- News is that Jackie
Robinson day was celebrated on April 15th. It was pragmatic as
26 teams participated in 13 major league ballparks. Jackie's widow
also attended the ceremony at Shea Stadium and was grateful to
the fans who were present there and the Major League Baseball.
- Some bad news for
Tiger fans is that some of their players are injured and would
be out of action for some period.
- D. Young has his right
leg broken and would stay off for around 8 weeks.
- C. Spurling would
be out of the whole season for his right elbow surgery.
- F. Rodney and L. Urdaneta
would be off for 15days as for having a right elbow sprain and
right elbow inflammation.
- Detroit Tigers have
have won 6 matches and lost 3.
- History has it in
its store that Tigers were ready to play their first American
League game On April 24th, 1901 but rain did disrupt the match
to be played at Bennett Park.
- In 1905 the Tigers
took on the blue uniform for Tyrus Raymond Cobb who was with Tigers

<p>Could be. At least that's what manager Jim Leyland hinted at Thursday.</p>
<p>Leyland made a throwaway remark when asked if Zumaya could return to starting somewhere down the line.</p>
<p>"That would be down the road," Leyland said. "But it's not something I would do right now."</p>
<p>The New York Yankees went into this season planning to shift Chamberlain from setup, where he was phenomenal last year, to the rotation. They didn't do it from the beginning of the year because they wanted to limit his innings.</p> <p>Zumaya just returned to the roster from offseason A/C joint surgery, which means he's only going to pitch maybe 40 innings this season after missing half of last year because of a middle finger tear that required...

Tigers' Miner sent to Triple-A; Lopez recalled (AP)Tigers reliever Zach Miner was optioned to Toledo on Wednesday and right-hander Aquilino Lopez was recalled from the Triple-A club. The move came after Miner gave up a career-high four walks in two innings during Detroit's 6-4 loss to the Twins on Tuesday night. Lopez started the season with the Tigers but was optioned to Toledo June 15 and had a 2.45 ERA in three games.

Tigers' Ordonez on 15-day DL with pulled oblique (AP)The Detroit Tigers placed right fielder Magglio Ordonez on the 15-day disabled list with a pulled muscle in his right side on Sunday. Ordonez pulled his oblique muscle in the third inning of a 7-6 win over the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night. Ordonez is hitting .307 with 12 home runs and 50 RBI. He hit .363 last season to win the American League batting title.
