Rangers Baseball Hats, Jerseys and Merchandise
In 2006 the
Texas Rangers finished the season at 80-82.The Texas Rangers are hoping
the addition of free agent all star Sammy
Sosa will help the Rangers to make a playoff run. For a playoff
run to happen for the 2007 Texas Rangers, they will need career years
from Sammy Sosa, Kevin Millwood, Michael Young, Kenny Lofton, and
a healthy Eric Gagne. It is possible for the Rangers to win the division,
but they will have to make it past the Oakland
A's and Angels. The wild card most likely
will not come from the AL West division in 2007. The AL East and AL
Central division are better baseball teams on paper in 2007.

Information
The team

The Rangers
have never appeared in the LCS or the World Series - They have
been the division champions four times in 1994, 1996, 1998 and
1999 - Their best season was in 199 when they won 95 games and
their worst season was in 1973 when they only won 57.
Their first
manager was the legendary Ted Williams who managed in Arlington
for only one year.
The Rangers
have gone through eighteen managers in 32 years.
Nolan Ryan
is their only retire number besides Jackie Robinson (his number
was retired for the league). When the Washington Senators moved
to Minnesota in 1961 and became known as the Twins, the city of
Washington was granted another franchise, which was also known
as the Senators. That team remained in Washington until 1971 when
it moved to Texas and became known as the Texas Rangers. The idea
of having a major league baseball team in the Dallas/Fort Worth
area had been around since 1962, but the American League team
owners denied Charley Finley to move his Kansas City A's to Dallas.
Along with them came manager Ted Williams, who became legendary
for his .406 batting average in one season and two time winner
of the triple crown. The Rangers are one of the two longest running
AL franchises still waiting to win their first pennant along with
the Anaheim Angels. They have, however, won four American League
West division titles all in the 1990s. The Rangers have enjoyed
a lot a talent over the years including Nolan Ryan, Gaylord Perry
and Ferguson Jenkins. Recently the the Rangers finished just three
games behind in the AL West division with 89 wins thanks to the
help from all-stars such as Michael Young Alfonso Soriano and
pitcher Kenny Rogers.
Brad Penny is headed to Japan. The 33-year-old righty will join the Softbank Hawks of Japan's Pacific League, the team announced on its website Sunday. Penny, who pitched 12 seasons in the majors for six teams, indicated earlier in the week via Twitter he was headed for Japan.
Josh Hamilton is hogging the Texas Rangers' news right now thanks to his unfortunate one-night alcohol relapse. One of the downfalls to his moment of weakness is the fact his contract negotiations have been tabled, meaning he might not get a new contract until after the 2012...
<p>Once again, Josh Hamilton has lost one of his daily battles for sobriety.</p>
<p>On Feb. 3, Hamilton confirmed reports that he was drinking in a Dallas bar earlier in the week. He also said he had deceived teammate Ian Kinsler, who had joined him to keep him company.</p>
<p>Hamilton, who also had a slipup in January 2009, said he was in Dallas to attend to a family issue. He went out by himself for dinner and ordered a drink, then called Kinsler to join him. He said he did not drink in front of Kinsler, and Kinsler was unaware Hamilton had been drinking. Hamilton said Kinsler took him back to where he was staying and asked him if he needed to be accompanied upstairs. Hamilton said he told Kinsler he was fine, but when Kinsler left, he snuck back to the bar.</p> <p>"When I talk about being...
This entire situation with Texas Rangers' outfielder Josh Hamilton is starting to make me ill. All over the Internet, I have read articles where people dismiss him for making this slip up. I read articles where people act like he should know better and almost crucify him for...
Josh Hamilton shed no tears and used no prepared statement as he apologized and shared few details about his relapse with alcohol. Still, it was clear he was upset by what he had done.
In a somber tone, Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton acknowledged his latest relapse in drinking alcohol, issuing a raw statement live at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington on Friday. He acknowledged having a "weak moment" and apologized in the statement he said was not...
According to a Yahoo! Sports report, Texas Rangers outfielder and recovering drug addict Josh Hamilton said Feb. 3 that he had a relapse that started with "three or four" drinks at a Dallas-area bar this week, apologizing for a "weak moment" and insisting he will...
The baseball world is abuzz with the news that Texas Rangers star Josh Hamilton was seen drinking earlier this week at a Dallas bar. The seemingly careless and public manner in which Hamilton, he of the well-known addiction issues, chose to imbibe was shocking to many.

When news of Josh Hamilton's relapse first broke on Thursday night, we wrote with certainty that the Texas Rangers star would soon be forthcoming and honest about his public moment of weakness. As expected, Hamilton did just that on Friday … Continue reading →
So far, at least, no embarrassing photos have surfaced as they had the last time, just a sobering report that Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton had slipped out of sobriety again. The Dallas Morning News cited "individuals familiar with the episode" as spotting...
I am a huge fan of Texas Rangers' outfielder Josh Hamilton. I love the story of how Hamilton has gotten his life together after almost losing everything to his horrible drug addictions. Hamilton made a good choice, cleaned himself up and has been living a solid life, drug free...
The Texas Rangers took a major gamble in 2007 when they acquired Josh Hamilton in a trade with the Cincinnati Reds. The acquisition has been one of the many key pieces that Jon Daniels has picked up during his time with the Rangers.
Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton, who has a well documented addiction to drugs and alcohol that he has battled for years, had a relapse with alcohol this week, the Dallas Morning News reported Thursday. Hamilton, the 2010 American League Most Valuable Player, drank alcohol in...

There have been many great home run hitters born in Texas . Home of the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros, this state is home to two MLB teams and is the birthplace of over 800 MLB players. Here's a look at the top 10 home run hitters with a hometown in Massachusetts.
With all the talk about Roy Oswalt having discussions with the Texas Rangers, I have to question whether this means they are not completely sold on Neftali Feliz. I mean, they have Colby Lewis, Matt Harrison, Yu Darvish and Derrick Holland already in the rotation.
TORONTO - Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos put the finishing touches on his bullpen makeover Wednesday by signing veteran right-hander Francisco Cordero to a US$4.5-million, one-year contract.
Lunch went well for Roy Oswalt and the Texas Rangers in a Monday face-to-face meeting, according to an ESPN.com report. Oswalt, his wife, Nicole, and agent, Bob Garber, met Rangers general manager Jon Daniels and CEO and president Nolan Ryan.

When Bud Selig decided he wanted to add a fifth team to the MLB playoffs, it only took a few months to gain steam. Selig announced this week that he expected the additional playoff team to possibly start up in 2012. This new postseason could have completely changed the end of the...
The Texas Rangers have made it to back-to-back World Series appearances but the one person who never gets any credit for their success is manager Ron Washington. It looks like the only people who refuse to credit him are fans because the Rangers' organization rewarded...
Ron Washington felt he was the right guy for the job when the Texas Rangers hired him as their manager, despite his inexperience in that role and the rebuilding effort that was just getting started. "I knew that through time things would fall into place," Washington said Monday after getting another two-year contract extension.
The Texas Rangers and manager Ron Washington agreed to a two-year extension Monday, putting Washington under contract through the 2014 season. Washington, 59, was heading into the final season of his contract, which was signed in 2010, after the Rangers went to the World Series for...
